I've been told that there is some cable that could be disconnected somewhere under the car. If that's a possibility, can someone tell me where exactly it is located!? Thanks!

First I would recommend taking your E39 to a shop that has a factory scan tool, let them diagnose the problem. The DSC light could be a number of different problems. Might be a problem with the module itself, could be a Precharge pump issue, wheel speed sensor, steering angle sensor, etc.... Basically I wouldn't disconnect anything that just might cause more problems.
