What is your question?
Bought a used 2001 530I last Feb and LOVE IT! However about 2 months ago we started having issues. The car started to overheat so we had a new waterpump installed, then 2 weeks later we had to have a new thermostat installed, now there seem to weird electronic issues. The raido will be on but no digital read out is lit and you cannot change the channel or volume, the lights on the dash are not working correctly, meaning when the door is open it's not registering on the dash, the blinkers work but they don't show being on on the dash, the windows did not roll down yesterday but roll down today, the thermostat now fluctuatates from middle back down to the first line after cold, the key will no longer work unless you put it in the door to open or lock. The car only has about 75,000 miles. HELP!!!!!! I love this car but very frustated at this point.

These are HIGH cost of maintenance cars, as your are discovering. I use to work in a BMW shop and to drive one of these cars is well, quite expensive. It sounds like the shop you are using is not really skilled in BMW, because the water pump and thermostat is really all part of one job, not a piece here and a piece there. The Electronics, including the Cluster, do go out and need replacing. We used to keep complete instrument panels in stock at the shop where I worked. There is also an ECU for the windows and other Body electronics. I would have a complete system scan and go from there, your car has about 50 Computers, so this is not a trivial procedure. Try to find a shop that has the GT1, the BMW factory Diagnostic Tool, with out it you are really handicapped. http://repairpal.com/bmw-repair-in-frontenac-kansas
