97 528i I've been driving with a snapped throttle cable for secondary throttle housing to ads actuator. The car seems fine but not to much speed and gas maybe going faster . Is it ok to drive like this or will something worse happen

Throttle cable is the small 417 mm one . How important is that to have on cause I've been driving with out it. and is that why the car seems slow and using more gas ?
