What is your question?
I just got a quote from BMW to replace a catalytic converter. Their labor is quoted at 6.8 hours for $1010.68 ......that's just the labor. Does that sound right? 6.8 hours to replace a catalytic converter? I wanted to buy the oem parts myself and find a place to have them installed. The parts has 24 months / unlimited miles warranty for parts and labor but these labor prices and how long it would take seems ridiculous. I have a 2014 BMW F34, 335i xDrive GT Thank you

â–ªï¸ B - M - W - - X-Drive! â–ªï¸ You could contact local auto muffler shop for estimates..That their specialty - even if it is exhausting work..
Catalytic Converters are emission control devices which are designed to last the life of the vehicle and do not normally require replacement. Furthermore, if the vehicle is properly used and maintained, original converters are covered by the emission control warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles.
I currently have 138k on this car so out of the emissions warranty. Was just wondering if it was correct as far as cost and labor time.
If I were you, then suggest looking at pushrods answer about contacting a local independent auto muffler shop for estimates. I just had one replaced on my vehicle at a local independent, trusted muffler repair shop for a couple hundred dollars(converter/labor included),although it wasn't for a BMW and I am very happy with their work. The only reason I had it replaced was because the inside had broken loose and it was rattling,no codes, just drove me crazy rattling! good luck.
Ok thanks for the information
