He told me to have it cloned so I bought a used ECU send them to get cloned they said they were cloned successfully and they were plugged up and drive no reprogramming. I put in the cloned one and it idles for about 30 seconds normally you can push the gas pedal and rev the engine just fine and after about 30 seconds it starts surging severely and fast from $700 RPMs up to 15 1600 RPMs and back down up and down up and down and park and drive and neutral all of them both the ecu's do it even the one I had in it before I got it cloned. Hello, your "mechanic" may not be in the best position to help you and your BMW. It's not like just anyone can approach a BMW with a concern - you have to have proper diagnostic equipment, workshop manuals for reference and especially an experienced BMW technician to work with. I can't even imagine a need to replace an "ECU" for this vehicle. What testing has been performed? It sounds like you have codes available for checking. It sounds like you need an experienced technician to me. Use this link to find some shops near you that can help with your concern: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
