The temperature gauge of the vehicle is not measuring coolant temperature - it's measuring oil temperature. When the oil is that hot, you have a really dangerous and damaging situation. Testing should be performed to determine if there is a coolant leak. If there is no leak, testing will be needed to find out if there is a thermostat issue, a radiator flow issue, a water pump circulation issue, a cooling fan issue or something else.
