Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Do not drive the vehicle if it overheats. The temperature gauge of the vehicle is not measuring coolant temperature - it's measuring oil temperature. When the oil is that hot, you have a really dangerous and damaging situation. Testing should be performed to determine if there is a coolant leak. If there is no leak, testing will be needed to find out if there is a thermostat issue, a radiator flow issue, a water pump circulation issue, a cooling fan issue or something else. Hands on testing is needed. Hopefully further damage has not been done! Seek guidance from a shop near you. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
