Tailgate will not open, rear wiper stop working

After closing tailgate, light on dash indicate tailgate is open. Could not open after that, switch in foot well, tailgate button and button on remote will not activate.

Hello, it would seem that there is some kind of problem with the latch to the lift gate. Either an electrical switch in the latch is not registering the latch as closed, or the latch is not physically closing. I would concentrate diagnostic efforts in that area. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
