Broken mirror driver side

Sounds like when the car hit the mirror and ripped the wires, it ended up damaging the wire from the window switch to the mirror motor. The door panel should be removed to inspect the motor and see if only the wire is the problem or if the entire motor is damaged. This should be done at a reputable repair shop at the same time as the mirror to save you some labor costs.
