passenger door locks

Best thing to do is to scan your lock system. There is a computer that controls these things and there are several micro switches and actuators. I have worked on BMWs where 1 failed door lock actuator took the whole system down and it was the TRUNK! When you unlock/lock your driver door, do the passenger side doors react at all? The drivers door is usually independently activated as a safety measure. Good Luck!

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I have the same exact issue on a 2002 325i. The passenger locks do not always work. It takes several tries from the Driver door external lock and the inside locking switch
