Engine Light is ON & Reverse does not Work

Your transmission is gone for reverse. Common problem although BMW will act as if you are the first one. It is a defect talked about on the net. Solution is to have transmission rebuilt, BMW wants $4,500 for a rebuilt transmission, not installed. Shop wants $2,500 to do the job. I have driven 40,000 miles with no reverse as a repair will not cure defect.
