if the camshaft sensor shows up on diagnostic check will the car shut down if it goes out

Camshaft sensor input is a key sensor used by the computer in your car to determine ignition timing and fuel injections. Some cars have a back up stratagy but I believe the BMW will not run with out cam angle sensor input.
