Hello, you may want to check to see if one of the filaments in the brake light bulbs are burned out, even intermittently. Hard to say, but i've seen the indicator for burned out bulbs be on when all seem to be OK. Have a critical look and see for sure.

If you have the wrong type of bulb, that may also cause an incorrect sensing of bulb operation.
