Changed battery out in 2004 audi tt breaks are not working?

replaced battery and power asst. for the breaks quit working when I backed it down the drive. Is the power booster related to the battery being replaced?

Do the breaks literally not work as in they don't stop the car or do you have a hard pedal and a warning message on the dash? Alex

The brakes do work. I have to push down hard on the pedal. It's like I don't have any power to the brakes anymore.I don"t have any display warnings.
