What is your question?
Intermittently (probably once a month) Fluid will come out when I pull back on the stalk. I took it to the dealership and they told me "there is a short in the wiring" and then proceeded to tell me it would 1,100 dollars to repair. Would this be possible to fix by myself? Does fixing a short really cost north of 1,000 dollars? I have a feeling that the wiper fluid didn't work when I drove it off the lot (I checked out a lot of things on the car but forgot to check to see if the wiper fluid worked).
How long has your 2016 Audi S4 had this problem?

Hello, switch - wiring - washer pump. That's about it here. Certainly get a second opinion and perhaps you can save too: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops A "short" would require a wiring repair that would be "flat rate" labor which could be quite expensive due to access and tear down time. Impossible to know what you're up against unless you can get more information from the repair technician.
