Starting erratically and takes forever to turn over to establish a normal idle

What is your question?

Any idea root cause of this phenomena on a 180,000 engine? Spark plugs replaced, Fuel system tuned up recently, replaced Fuel pressure regulator and still erratic.

There should be some codes to trace down for this type of problem, that should really help you. Other wise you are pretty much guessing as the S4 is a VERY complex engine and turbo system.

which leads to my next question-Is an Audi dealer the best place to bring this type of problem? I prefer another trusted mechanic, but, when I mentioned the type of problem I was having he seemed puzzled...
