What is your question?
No noticeable sounds. Anyway, I have 2 fuel pumps: a High pressure and a Low pressure. How do you tell the difference between a bad high pressure field pump vs a bad low pressure fuel pump?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Pressing the accelerator while cranking. Also, when it wouldn’t accelerate, I pulled over and put it in park, then the car accelerated again.
How long has your 2015 Audi Q7 had this problem?
2 months

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! We'll get this Audi back in S-Line! A bad high-pressure fuel pump totally can cause symptoms like difficulty starting, especially during cranking, and poor acceleration. It's responsible for delivering pressurized fuel to the fuel injectors. A bad low-pressure fuel pump, on the other hand, may cause similar symptoms but typically affects fuel delivery to the high-pressure pump. A fuel pressure test can help diagnose which pump is faulty. If the pressure is low before the high-pressure pump, the issue may be with the low-pressure pump or the fuel filter if there is one. If the pressure is low after the high-pressure pump, the high-pressure pump may be faulty. Consulting a professional mechanic with diagnostic equipment is recommended for accurate diagnosis and repair. If you have any other questions feel free to call us at 877-913-1554!
