What is your question?
Hi car peeps! First let me say I know nothing about cars, so I’m hoping to find some guidance here before going back to my dealership. About a month ago when attempting a K turn my car had an issue when I shifted from drive into reverse, it basically went from drive to neutral, the reverse wouldn’t work at all. I had to turn the car off completely and then on again and reverse worked. There was a slight incline I was reversing into fwiw. I took the car to the dealership because it was still under warranty, but they were not able to replicate the problem. They said no error codes came up. Fast forward to today. I was leaving a parallel parking spot (no incline this time). I first went into reverse to give myself room, then when I shifted into drive to pull out, nothing happened, I was still in reverse. I tried putting the car in park and then shifting to drive, but it was still in reverse. Again I had to turn the car off again completely and then on to solve the problem. Any ideas?
How long has your 2018 Audi Q5 had this problem?
First noticed a month or so ago. Have owned car about 6 months.

Hello, just sounds like some kind of electronic transmission gear selecting concern. The only input I would give is to ensure your foot is securely on the brake and the vehicle completely stopped prior to attempting a gear shift. I imagine you are doing this -- but just warrants saying. Your local dealership needs to spend more time with the vehicle, and you need to advocate for yourself in having them do this -- even if it means they keep the car for some time and drive it a bit to try and replicate the concern during testing. Good luck!
