the sensor is located behind the engine just to the passenger side in a coolant pipe. there is a plastic clip that holds the sensor in its hole. if you release the pressure in a cool coolant system by opening the cap you will be able to replace the sensor and only loose a few ounces of coolant. replace the rubber o-ring and have a spare clip just in case.
