Have it put on the computer to check for codes it may come up as a bad throttle position sensor. As I needed this on on my 1996 audi A4 (love the car). I can still drive the car but it shifts hard every now and then and will not do the automatic shift. I have found the part online for about $225.00. Good Luck!
