Audi A6 Fan Resistor 91-97g is defective

My 1995 Audi A6 Quattro has a Fan Resistor issue? The Engine is getting very HOT and the Water Tank is Boiling over. The Temp Gage is now on the 3/4 Mark and is moving up to the maximum reading, within 10-15 Minutes ? Part Number: 4A0 959 493A ( Audi part made in UK ) Note: The Control unit got 3 positions ? NO SPEED CONTROL ?????
