2017 door sensors do not work by touch on a4 audi ultra told I would need to buy a new fob and have it coded/activated; why can't the fob I have be coded/activated

fob works when clicked but not when the door handle is touched as the door sensors should when touched and who activates these new fobs; dealer says they do not

What makes this problem better or worse?

doors just don't wok when touched
