Should I replace my transmission or dump the car?

I have had over $300 in repairs in the lst 2 years on my Audi 1.8 liter convertible. Now the transmission shakes and the engine light comes on 24/7 I have 130,000 on the car but it is in mint condition sans the engine.

Have it THOROUGHLY examined by a specialized audi/vw/porshe mechanic to get a good understanding of EVERYTHING that is bad or going bad. Then consider the cost of replacement (and future repairs) vs. the cost of new ownership. Those are the only factors unless you are attached to your car.
