What is your question?
I believe my timing chain is going out, but I wanna make sure before I start buying parts since AUDI parts are expensive. I noticed my car took way too long to start up, it usually starts up with one press of the silver circle or start switch whatever, but it took me holding it a few seconds which is odd. I had a check engine light come on and while that came on it seemed like my cars timing was way off, I'd press on the gas and it would take 2 to 3 seconds to go anywhere so a red flag in my head went off so I parked the car, turned it off, and had it towed. The codes are p305400 and p001600. I believe the second one is specifically about timing. Is this most likely a timing chain? What parts should I buy or what else could it be? What could also be wrong if the timing chain is bad like could the valves be bent and how do I check all that stuff? If I do replace the timing chain, what's some other parts I should replace in the vicinity? Thanks ahead of time!
What makes this problem better or worse?
I don't know! I'm scared to turn the engine on if it is a timing chain!
How long has your 2010 Audi A4 Quattro had this problem?
A day or so

Do you hear the timing chain rattling ? *Hands-on* testing by qualified personnel is highly recommended here.- otherwise you’re simply guessing at it. Good luck with it! Good luck with it!
Hello, P3054 typically relates to starter motor / starting system issues. P0016 is related to engine speed sensor / camshaft position concerns. Neither make me think "timing chain" concerns. There is definitely something going on in the starting of the engine. One note I read somewhere suggests a possible loose ground where it attaches to the chassis behind the right headlamp. This could be a crazy tangent, but certainly worth checking into. The P0016 would lead me to believe there could be an issue with engine speed information as it is provided depending on the position of the camshaft reluctor or the speed sensor information itself. This will take some specific hands on testing by a knowledgeable Audi technician with experience with these vehicles and concerns. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
