I notice a constant squeak near the front of the engine during warm-up.
What is your question?
After the engine warms up the squeak stops. I have changed the serpentine belt, tensioner and idler pulleys and still notice it. I spoke with an owner of a 2008 A4 Quattro and he has the same problem.
Is the a known issue and can I ignore it for the time being. I have about 73k miles on the vehicle.
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2007 Audi A4 Quattro. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Still persists with belt off.
OK , now we need to know if it's the 2.0L turbo , or the 3.2V6
It is the 2.0L turbo.
How often do you do oil changes & do you use factory filter? I would not ignore it , it might get a LOT more expensive.
I use the factory air filter and quality 5w40 synthetic motor oil changing at 5k mi. Perhaps the timing belt maintenance will take care of it. Thanks.
Squeak not at all engine /turbo speed related? Just a thought.Bearings in turbo may be starting to go.
