What is your question?
I borrowed my cousin's car (2005 Acura TSX) and while at a stop light, found myself in the back of the truck in front of me. It was from a stop...so no airbags deployed. But the amount of damage from it blew my mind. I think my dad discovered that the engine seems to be running at high rpm, surging engine is something he noticed when he drove it a month before. I only drove it on the freeway and then on the street for about a mile. I don't know what happened but wondering if others have experienced something like this since the engine surging has been a reported issue. Is there a historical crash report that can be found?

The most likely cause of an accelerator pedal sticking is a format that has been lodged in the way of the accelerator pedal. It is possible although highly unlikely that the throttle would stick for some reason. There is a throttle cable and throttle body, and the engine idle base speed is influenced by metered air and fuel delivery ratios. Testing would have to be performed. I can tell you in the field that it's not something we see happen -- every car has it's own history and possible issues, and only hands on testing can reveal what happened. Good luck.
