Power Lock (drivers side)

What is your question?

I have recently run into a problem where my remote doesn't unlock or lock my power doors. So it forces me to use the key which is quite annoying. Although it does work to remotely unlock the trunk. When inside the car and using the lock/unlock button on the door, it will only lock/unlock the passenger and rear doors but not the the drivers side. Also, when the drivers side door is unlocked and you manually push it down it will lock all doors as well. When examining the driver door lock you can see that it tries to lock and unlock but fails to do so. Any suggestions?

I ahce almost the same problem. The driver's side controls all the other doors. It is probably the actuator, which is the little motor in the door. I have found them online for $18.00. THe bad thing is you have to take the whole door apart to fix it.

Which Auto Part did you find these for $18.00 and how hard is to repair it?

Sounds like the mechanism is broken and it is screwing everything else up. I'm sure you'll have to take it to a shop who can fix it for you. The Engine Room in Santa Cruz is great.

I had the EXACT same problem with my 2005 TSX-exactly as you describe. With this problem, another pain is that only the driver's side has a key lock which can open all the doors. If you are on the passenger's side, you have to walk around to the driver's side to open the other doors. After putting up with this for about six months, I sucked it up and had it repaired at my Acura dealer. Cost me $149. Anytime you can drive away from those folks with a repair bill less than $200 you're lucky. Works fine now, but never had that problem with any other car, ever, and feel it shouldn't happen to a 'premium' vehicle like an Acura-especially after just four years.

I think this is a common probem..I have read several blogs about this happening..I have a 2006 tsx and the same thing has happened. The actuator had to be replaced.Cost me $220 at the dealership. There should be a recall or something on this...If you google this you will be amazed at how many people are having the same problem.
