I'm having a lil trouble removing the serpentine belt on my 2004 Acura TL. Should I be loosing the alternator or the tensioner pulley.. the tensioner pulley doesn't budge when I try to loosen the bolt to move the pulley.. and I've loosened the alternator once but that didnt seem to work since space is limited underneath it.. please help :S

Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info .There is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You get a one year subscription to year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual. http://bit.ly/alldata_repair_manuals or try http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online and get an online repair manual subscription.
The tension pulley is the way to go. It is VERY tight and hard to budge. The bolt doesn't actually loosen, but the pulley moves inward towards the back of the car. You will probably need to put a bar on your wrench to get the proper leverage, as it has a lot of tension.
Put a ratchet/socket (14mm, iirc) on the tensioner pully bolt with a breaker bar or long piece of pipe. Push the tensioner back (toward the trunk) using the breaker bar/pipe for leverage. Remove the belt from the nearby Power Steering Pump Pulley. Release (gently) the tensioner pully and remove the belt. Replace with the new belt in the same manner. Reference the belt routing on the Gates Belts web site if necessary.
