Car SOMETIMES wont start...Like theres no Fire.

What is your question?

When it wont start, I release the steering wheel and Bang it up and down and Turn it side to side and mess with the key in different ways..and after 1 attempt or 50 attempts all of a sudden it starts right up and runs Great. My brother mentioned a ignition tumbler? It's some thing in the steering collum...Any ideas?

Hello, when it will not start, does the engine crank over without starting? Or is the engine silent and there is no cranking?
