car is cutting off while driving! fuel pump and relay replaced already
5 Replies
i had this problem on my nissan and after trying few things i found out that the distreputer cap was bad and was causing it to die while driving
I had the same problem on 99 RL. I had to replace the MAIN RELAY under the dash and no problems since. It was about a $65 part and all it does is plug in. No problems since.
It's quite common when the fuel pump goes out for the electrical feedback to damage the oil pump. If the oil pump or sensor has been damaged, the result will be automatic shutoff of the fuel. (To avoid engine damage due to loss of oil.). You may not be seeing a real oil pressure problem, just a sensor malfunction resulting in fuel pump shutoff.
