Do I need to use synthetic motor oil?

Yes, the 2012 RDX with the turbocharged 4 cylinder engine requires synthetic oil, 5W30. Acura factory filled Mobil 1, but at this point 6 years later, any high quality full synthetic 5W30 oil should work fine.
