Hi, I'm Bogi, one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Great question, and thanks for including all of those details, they're really helpful! The fact that the vibration was present before and after the new tires and rims were installed is actually a really important clue, as it helps point us away from the tires being the root cause. That said, it's still worth making sure the new tires were properly balanced and that the new rims are the correct size and offset for your 2011 Acura MDX, as an incorrect offset can sometimes introduce or worsen vibration. The speed specific nature of the vibration, particularly the fact that it shows up at certain speeds and smooths out at others, (once wheels and tires are eliminated as the cause) is a classic sign of a worn or failing wheel bearing, CV axle, or possibly a brake rotor or wheel hub issue. On the front passenger side specifically, a worn CV axle or outer CV joint is a pretty common culprit on vehicles of this age and mileage. A failing wheel hub or wheel bearing can also produce this kind of speed sensitive vibration and is definitely worth having inspected. Given that front end vibrations can affect handling and safety, and since the issue has persisted through a tire and rim change, we'd strongly recommend having a qualified shop do a proper inspection of the front passenger side suspension, wheel bearing, and CV components. This kind of diagnosis really benefits from having the vehicle up on a lift.
