Hello, ABS system malfunction typically only causes a change in braking performance when there is an emergency situation - when you need it most. Many times, a bad wheel speed sensor or a bad fuse is the case of an ABS system warning light, but there are other components that may cause the warning light as well. Scanning the vehicle for trouble codes will get you in the right direction, but beware of the parts store crews who will push you to purchase parts - they are doing their job.
