Problems with check engine light going on and off

The check engine light comes on and goes off.Example-It comes on while I'm driving to work and then after the car sits all day ,It does not appear again on the way home. This action has taken place at least three times in the last week or so. you can e-mail me at juneb61@yahoo.com
