power window

my wife had the same problem and I thought it was a fuse problem also. but there is a tube that goes between the door and the car that holds all the wires. if the window can go down but not up its not a fuse problem. so I opened the tube and found seperate wires for different things. but the one listed, window had been severed so I bought a butt connector to connect the severed wires together. so the electrical current was running nowhere which doesnt allow the window to go up.
