What is your question?
After accelerating to a speed of 45 to 50 MPH and then begining to slow for trafficwe hear a popping noise, that sounds like pop corn popping, that appears to be coming from the right rear of the vehicle. Numerous attempts by several mechanics, using diagnostic equipment, and test driving the vehicle, has failed to locate the source of the noise. Ever hear of a problem like this? Could it be an exhaust system or Catalic converter problem. HELP!!!

Weird...it does sound like an exhaust problem. Is there any exhaust leaks? It's possible when you are decelerating fresh air is being drawn in through an exhaust leak and causing this noise.
could also be piston pins banging up against the walls. Have someone do a timing check, if the timing is slightly off, you should get a valve job.
I had the same problem after i changed my chevy radio to aftermarket cd player, popping sound came from my speakers, really loud if volume is high.
