What is your question?
It only happens every so often. I'll hop in and the car won't start. On third battery in 2 years from draining. This time, screen said shifter wasn't in park, but it was. Had to crawl under and get it into neutral so I could push the car out of the way. After charging the battery, got some screen up instead of total blackness. Computer displayed several different error messages and now seems caught up somewhat (?) as the lights, radio, windows, bells & whistles are now working, but car still won't start.
How long has your 2013 Volvo XC60 had this problem?
On & off 2 years

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Dealing with a parasitic drain can be frustrating, especially if it's been causing issues for a couple of years. When your car drains batteries like that, it often points to something drawing power even when the car is off, which can lead to all sorts of electrical gremlins. It's good that the lights, radio, and other electronics are working again after charging the battery, but the fact that the car still won't start suggests there might be a deeper issue. The error messages on the computer could be related to this drain or possibly other electrical problems. To determine the cause, a mechanic will need to perform a parasitic draw test. This test identifies what's pulling power when it shouldn't be. It could be anything from a faulty component, like a module, to a wiring issue. Since it's intermittent, documenting when it happens and any specific conditions might help the mechanic diagnose it faster. Hang in there, and I hope they can get your XC60 back on the road soon!
