Why does my Odometer read error After having a dead battery for 7 days?

2008 Chevy impala Lt 3.5 v6, got impounded for a week. My ignition lock was messed up (I’ve since fixed it) and key gets stuck. So I had previously removed the steering column cover to access the release button.. Tow truck driver Said he couldn’t figure it out so the battery was D E A D.. took forever for them to jump start it for me. Anyhow now the odometer reads ERROR. I can’t seem to find anything about this online, hoping someone can help. Thanks in advance
