    OBD-II Code Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure is defined as a Engine Mount "B" Control Circuit High

    Engine Mounts secure the engine to the body of the vehicle. Usually this is just a rubber dampener. On some newer vehicles, electronically controlled Engine Mounts to reduce the amount of vibration from the engine felt by the driver and passengers. These mounts have a fluid inside of them that changes in viscosity based on the electrical signal received by the engine's control module (PCM). If the PCM detects an incorrect signal back from the rear engine mount, the PCM will set code P0AB8.

    Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure Symptoms

    • Abnormal vibration while driving may be detected by the driver
    • Transmission bangs into gear when shifting from park to reverse or drive
