What Does P0224 Code Mean?

Fault Code Definition

Code P0224 is triggered when the voltage signal from the Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch to the PCM is erratic or intermittent.

P0224 Symptoms

  • Check Engine Light will illuminate
  • In many cases, no abnormal symptoms may be noticed
  • In some cases, the engine may be hard starting or may not start at all
  • In some cases, the engine may hesitate during acceleration

I got this code (P0244) , yesterday in my STI and it says it is the external wastegate function. I spoke with my tuner and he said that my stock external wastegate does not have the spring tension to maintain the stage 2 19 psi boost, thus, leaking and causing the code to pop up.
