Noisy Air Conditioning Compressor

Thanks Roy for replying to this question, to answer your question, no I don't have my air conditioning on when I first start up the engine, yes I am sure it is the air conditioning compressor.

ok, then it may be the front bearing making noise. this can be replaced without replacing the entire compressor. i would not wait too long on this repair as you dont want the bearing to lock up and cause other issues. Roy

Thank you, Roy for your advice, this sounds more logical than replacing the compressor which can be quite expensive as my mechanic believes it is the compressor, but sounds like he is trying to get more money out of me, I do appreciate your advice.
