No start condition
What is your question?
My daughter was driving on the parkway and the car just quit and the engine service light came on. Engine error code P1617 - manufacturer controlled computer output circuit. Any help would be appreciated

I believe this means there's a fault in the transmission and it is requesting that the "Check Engine Light" be turned on. Check the codes in the transmission, there's a good chance you have a code for the gear position sensor. If you get the code post it here and I can give you more info.
