no sound on radio

What is your question?

I plugged in a nissan radio that appears to be working, but no sound. The first time I bought a Bose nissan radio (I wasn't aware of a difference)and was told it didn't have sound because my pathfinder was non bose. I now have a non bose radio but the same thing is happening, no sound. the pioneer radio works fine, but I really want to have a Nissan radio.
