Notice tapping noise (similar to lifter tap) for a couple of days. Car will move forward but not reverse. Fluid levels are fine.

Sounds like internal transmission failure, Bring it to or call a few transmission shops for rebuild estimates, But usually the wrecking yards carry these GM transmissions in stock with a warranty and can direct you to who can install it for you
