My front brakes will make an ungodly sound when I hit the pedal,

I have recently changed the pads and had rotors checked, brief visual inspection of the calipers, "they are the same". The sound is not really like when I have had pads that were thin in the past, not a metal on metal sound. The problem being off and on is curious too, a month or 2 between occurrences. Thanks for your attention to my problem. Love the car overall though, it is a smooth beast!
