My car is running out of gas really fast and smells like gas inside

How can I tell where my car has a gas leak at exactly and is that the only issue that it could be if it's not holding gas if I put $10 in gas and it running completely out turning off in barely a mile

What makes this problem better or worse?

$10 in gas runs out in a little over a mile it's completely out of gas
