My car doesn want to start after engine gets warm and once it cools it turns on

My 06 Commander was working fine and suddenly one day it started overheating and turned off I put water once it cooled down and was able to start it. Took to mechanic and he replaced thermostat. It doesn't overheat anymore but I took it to store and ran in and out and when i tried turning car on everything would turn on but egnition. I left it there for a few hours and went back and turned on fine
