My 2006 Isuzu Ascender makes a whining noise when accelerating.

Would check for vacuum leak at engine. Tech taking a roadtest may be able to pin down after he hears exactly what you hear. Could also be a belt noise from loose/glazed/cracked/dry rot condition. Could be lots of things but need that tech or mechanical friend to look/listen while you rev and decel engine.
