My 2003 Saturn LW300 won't start/stalls when driving

my car starts and drives fine sometimes, sometimes it won't start, when it wont start it cranks fine, just wont turn over. Sometimes it will die when driving. I had the fuel pump replaced about a year ago, and recently had the fuel filter and fuel relay replaced. I also get check engine lights pop on occasionally and when that happens I get a hard shift between gears in my transmission, could this be a bad powertrain control module or possibly another defective fuel pump
What seems to make the problem better or worse? no real reason, sometimes it runs fine sometimes it wont start, sometimes iy dies while driving
