I have a new battery. when i push button to start everything in car goes dead. no dash,windows,seats etc.i wait about 2-3 min. a chime goes off and acc. work again.i can use acc. and everything lights up.this problem was intermittant for 1 yr, now will not crank at all thanks dude

Your battery may be new but what is the voltage at the terminals, as it needs to be 12.5 volts or higher. Code U0100 means that there is a loss of communication with the power train computer, but that can happen if there is low voltage. The reason I always start with the battery is that you may have a poor battery connection, check your terminals for tightness. Also if there is a loose connection the battery won't charge and will quickly go dead. Just because the lights work, really does not tell us much, because it takes more than a hundred times the juice to crank the motor, it takes as much juice to crank your motor as a hundred 125 amp power box on a 4 bedroom house maxed out.
