5-10-2010 car stalled at red lights, took to dealership said MAF system sensor needed to be cleaned. Why,car has only 19,000 miles & I live in the City. Cost $114.00

The MAF Sensors can get dirty from incoming air and some people say cleaning them helps, others say it doesn't. I don't have experience one way or the other, but I would have the shop stand by their suggestion and if it doesn't fix the problem will they reimburse you or put the $114 toward the repair? I would also see if you still have an emissions warranty on the vehicle.
